As far as trails go, The great glen is fairly new, having been opening in 2002. It has an up & coming feel to it & I generally prefer it to the West Highland way due to it being more quieter. Theoretically speaking, you are crossing the width of Scotland in 79 miles. This walk can be done in 3 – 6 days depending on how you like to walk & going north past Fort Augustus there are high routes & low routes. You can see below my journey on the Great Glen Way & as always , questions are invited about my experiences with walking.
